My wireless router at home isn't working, and the WX/weird ex set it up (one good thing about him was computer knowhow) and I have no idea how to fix it - I have tried calling the DSL company and the router company - so if I want to go online here, I have to sit in this awkward spot plugged in to the modem in the living room.
Erg. More later when I have more access. Wah.

Did you try that thing where you unplug your computer. 30 seconds later unplug your router and then plug them both back in again? It's worked for me before.
That usually works for me too! This time it's way more annoying. I'm workin on it...
Look up the router and find out how to do a total lobotomy reset, back to factory settings. Usually you stick a pin in the hole or something, then you can log in as admin/admin or whatever their default is, then change the password to your own. Call me if you need to, I might be able to walk you through it.
